McDonald’s Recalls 2.5 Million Hello Kitty Happy Meal Toys Due to Potential Choking Hazard

Recalled McDonalds Happy Meal Hello Kitty Toy

Hello Kitty Birthday Lollipop whistles have been recalled by McDonald’s because components inside the whistle can become detached and pose a choking hazard to young children.

Around 2.3 million of these toys have been sold with Happy Meals in the U.S.A. and around 200,000 were distributed in Canada.

These toys should be taken away from children immediately and returned to any branch of McDonald’s (in the U.S.A. and Canada) for a free replacement toy and either a yogurt tube or bag of apple slices.

The whistles were made in China and were supplied with Happy Meals during October and the first week of November 2014.

There have been two reports of children who had coughed-out pieces of these whistles which they had sucked into their mouths. One of these children received medical attention.
