Mothercare have issued a safety notice regarding its Xcursion Travel System informing customers that: “in some cases the car seat fabric…does not include the correct fire retardant treatment.”
This recall affects certain batches of the child car seat that were bought between 1st September 2010 and 19th July 2011. The batch code can be found on the car seat base, the affected numbers are:

Mothercare have sent out letters to customers known to have purchased a product that may need replacement car seat fabric. Otherwise the company has advised that customers should “…speak to a member of store staff to arrange your replacement cover or discuss alternative options.”
Use of the car seat can continue, however, Mother”…customers to be extra vigilant – keeping the car seat away from direct sources of fire and ignition, such as smouldering cigarettes, matches or candles.”
